my life has been full of goodbyes recently, if these blog entries are anything to go by. i've farewelled my wonderful high school drama teacher denise walsh, & my very dear friend biggi nominikat. and now i'm saying goodbye to sunsets - or rather, to the splendid view of sunsets i've enjoyed over the last four years from andy's 6th floor west-facing balcony. the horizon is only minorly interrupted by the tops of neighbouring (but not too close) apartment buildings, and most evenings we are treated to a unique and beautiful live artwork as the sun descends. it could be the only thing i will miss about this apartment. everything else about the new apartment - of which i have explored almost every inch during the last couple of weeks of sanding, painting, cleaning, floor-laying, cleaning, etc - is better. even the east-facing balcony will be an improvement, since the west-facing one climbs over 40 degrees in summer and is too hot to sit on. this week we are packing, we've already moved lots of little things, and the movers come next week to do the heavy stuff. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
