it's difficult to believe that someone as full of life as you, is no longer alive. It doesn't make any sense to me. Your presence is so strong - I keep expecting to see you, and I don't want to say goodbye yet. Sondern, ich möchte dir danken.
Liebe Biggi, unsere Biggi, thank you for your adventurous spirit, that brought you and Karin to New Zealand, and to me, so many years ago.
Thank you for all the postcards, from all over the world - I still have every one. And the photos, the birthday cards, the presents - you always remembered.
Vielen dank daß du mich bestärkt hast Deutsch zu lernen und zu sprechen; und danke auch daß du verstanden hast wie schwer es ist, und trotzdem geduldig mit mir Englisch gesprochen hast.
Ich danke dir for your hair. It was the shining beacon I searched for at crowded concerts, street festivals and biergartens, to lead me to your group. It will be harder now, but don't worry, I'll still find them.
Because you nurtured a group of the finest people, who I am happy to call my friends now as well. I thank you for your friends. And most importantly, thank you for introducing me and Andy. As you said on that day, you knew you were leaving me in good hands.
Thank you for being unsere Biggi. You always said, "wer hat zeit und lust?" and we had many wonderful times together. I will always treasure these memories.
So I won't say goodbye. I'll picture you on a never-ending holiday, travelling to places that those of us left behind can only begin to imagine. I wait with great curiosity for your postcards from whatever you find out there.
Thank you and vielen dank, liebe Biggi. Gute reise. As we say in Maori, ka kite ano - wir sehen uns wieder.
