I have been painting alongside my work in theatre since the beginning of my professional career. This work has been a source of inspiration and has stimulated my scenography. Painting is a medium through which I explore unknown paths and worlds. Sometimes it is like a shamanistic journey, at other times it is an experience of concentrated precision. Since 1985, I have worked in different styles and with different techniques - crayons, egg tempera, acrylic, ink, graphic, etc - and on different grounds. In 1996 I began studying Orthodox Icon Painting with a private teacher. My series of works are very different from each other, each series characterized by a specific technique and the specific research that was driving my needs and interests in that period. Shown below are examples of my painting from different series.

Micro painting, graphic and chemical interventions on photographic slide film. The original slide images are mainly landscapes. The film of the slides captures the illusion of a moment in time, while on the same surface graphic-pictorial interventions have been added that modulate the illusion of reality into an emotional space. Available as a slide show exhibition and as photographic exhibition. |
